Wondering

I was over on the Beyond The Cherry Tree site and there is talk about doing the cherry for the border so when the time comes , they will be done. I see one person is doing 1 inch cherries, just wondering how she came up with that size? I'm thinking that would be to large? Any thoughts out there? I did do any sewing today, shame on me!!!!

Mariner's Compass

Last week I took a class on paper piecing the Mariner's Compass block. We had a very good teacher from our own guild and it was a lot fun. I just didn't want it to lie around so I turned it into a small wallhanging. I'm planning on doing more blocks with different fabrics, enough to at least do a tablerunner, with dreams of a small quilt in my mind. We'll have to see about that. LOL. These are not the best pictures but they give you the idea.

applque book and more pictures

Yesterday I received my copy of "Hand Applique with Embroidery" by Sandra Leichner. It is a beautiful book with soooo many ideas and tips. I've also been working on the BOM from Fat Cat Patterns called Southern Gentleman. I'm working on the last block of this series, No.16 and then will be able to sew it together and have it quilted! This quilt has lots of cures and curlicues and I am happy with the way they turned out. Will post pictures when it's finished.

So anyway here are some more pictures of my BTCT blocks.

More pictures

I'm posting more pictures of my BTCT blocks. I did get some sewing done today, between my others activities. I did vote this morning and have been watching the results this evening. Enough to say I'm not happy. So without any further ado , some more pictures.

Starting my blog

Oh my, what am I doing. Just thinking about a place to post pictures of my quilting and knitting. Keeping a journal of my work and a very few thoughts. I'm not sure how this will work out yet. I've been working on my blocks for "Beyond The Cherry Tree ". I've decided to do my quilt in the colors of the orginal quilt , or at least as close as I can come.
